About Dairy Farming

The products produced by animals are used for agricultural purposes like natural manure. Along with all this, the animals provide milk products like ghee, butter, cheese, milk powder, curd, with the milk that they produce for humans. India holds the top position in the milk industry all over the world and holds a good position in the international market. With the high quality and quantity of the milk and milk products that are produced in India, the country gets a lot of help in the development. Looking at the pace by which the agricultural and the dairy sector is blooming, the time is not far, when India will be at the top position in producing the milk and milk products. With so much potential to succeed and employment in the dairy sector, there are a lot of challenges as well.

Challenges :
India is one of the most populated country of the world. So, the demands and the supply of milk in India is itself not balanced. Hence, it is much clear to observe that there are more opportunities for animal keepers and the youth of India in the dairy sector. The processing and marketing of dairy products in India are matchless and incredible. We are the largest producers as well as consumers of milk and milk products in the world. For centuries, India has been self-dependent for milk production. Also, the consumption of the milk produced is upto 100 percent in India. But to gain profits and boost up the economy, it is important to improvise the standards and the processes of the dairy and milk production. The reason why India is facing challenges with the dairy industry is because of the lack of unity. The various dairy sectors in India aren't unified and this is why we are different from the other diary production countries. For united dairy production, there are a lot of challenges and problems in India.
Lack of high quality fodder :
India is a country where you can get a wide range of diversity. When it comes to animals, one can find a large number of unutilized and competitive species of animals. These animals feed on the grazing grounds that are meant for productive animals. Due to industrialization, the grazing grounds are shrinking and this is the reason why the milk-producing animals aren't getting sufficient quality and quantity of food to feed on. This is the reason why there is a substantial difference in the demand and supply of milk and milk products in the country. This has increased the prices of the fodder a swell for the animals.
Ineffective breeding system :
The major challenge that the breed of India face is the late maturation. This is the common problem of the Indian breed of animals. It becomes much difficult for the breeders to get to know about the right time of breeding for the animals. This thus affects the efficiency of the animals inbreeding as well. Abortion of the animals as well causes a great loss to the industry. The lack of proper nutrition, minerals, and vitamins causes problems in the breeding of the animals that are the cause for the decline in the economic conditions of the animal keepers.
Education and training :
Despite the changes in the lifestyle, environment, and the necessities, for a long time, farmers and the animal keepers are still using the old process and methods for the education and training due to which the dairy industry has not become an organized sector yet. To make the dairy industry into an organization, it is important to make the education and the training programs more successful, and to do this it is important that they go by the changes in the technology and the scientific research. It is thus important for the farmers to get the required education and training so that they get to know what they have to do with their animals. As the major population of India is the dependency on agriculture and animal husbandry, so why not use the agricultural and animal husbandry education and training for employment and new developments. Keeping these challenges in mind, a few years ago, Vitesse Agro Limited and ICL Organic Dairy Products Limited finalized that we have our own milk to do what our ancestors did, and if required, then with the regular dairy products, we can manufacture the valuable dairy products as well.
